Mythe Project

Mythe was a project during the last semester of my first year. The project involved choosing a genre and getting two random real-life myths. We ended up making a top-down shooter about the Hawaiian goddess Pele. We worked in a team of three developers and four artists. We built it from scratch using the Unity engine. We all worked on our own GitHub branches and merged when a task was fully done. We also worked in Trello using sprints and agile development. Daily stand-ups and sprint reviews helped us with communication and knowing what had to be done.

Within the project I worked on a lot of different parts, including the story, a big part of the UI, the main menu and dialogue. The story is about someone who gets laid off from their job. He goes to the beach and discovers a note in which he learns about a way to get any wish he wants if he goes to a Hawaiian volcano. He goes there and meets the goddess of the sea, who tells him that in return for stealing Pele's treasure, the Lava Stone, he'll get his wish.

Some of the scripts I've made are about the dialogue system. Showing different images after reaching a certain point in the story. I've also made the level system, where after surviving for a while you reach the next level. I also scripted the whole main menu including a settings menu with a slider for sound which worked across the entire game. I am also the one who put the levels together with the art we got from the artists.

Mythe was one of my favorite projects I've worked on. I learned a lot from it and the game we made is something I am proud of. Over here you can check out the GitHub link.
